Bank branding: Ads with a community focus.

New for 2019, Shark designed a series of print ads for Bank Rhode Island’s community-based initiatives. A subtle variation on last year’s BIG theme, these print ads reinforce the text overlay design concept first introduced by the digital billboard design and broadcast TV commercial produced by Shark last summer. The ads feature a series of elegant images of the arts, environment, community and more along with inspiring large-scale headlines that include words such as "Roots" for the environment, "Create" for the arts, and "Honor" for the bank's support for military families.

Coming soon: A custom jewelry designer's brand and website get a makeover from Shark.

Sometimes rebranding takes an revolutionary strategy and we “ball up and toss” existing logos, typography and design. At other times, like this rebranding for a custom jewelry designer, we decided to preserve the original, artist’s self-made logo form (on the left) with more of an evolutionary design strategy. There is also a subtle name change, new url, and new website and small biz marketing program coming soon.

Beautiful new branding for a classic and renowned company.

Founded by Charles Shackleton and Miranda Thomas, ShackletonThomas furniture, pottery, and home décor can be found in the homes of Hollywood luminaries, international dignitaries, and in fine homes nationwide. As we begin to organize strategies, and a new digital marketing program, below, one can see the company' current logo and color palette, followed by a new typographic logo and icon ( props to Christian ... graphiste extraordinaire).

New branding and graphics for an undisclosed national client.

Although we can't name names, we can show a sneak peak at how the central idea of a logo can remain as a central idea with its graphic form evolving.  Yes, it's a Maple leaf, that was originally a whole tree. (See below)

A creative agency self-promo from Shark's archives.

Not much to say except that it's a great concept from the 2000's.

A winning Advertising Agency Pitch (that didn't actually win.)

Advertising agency pitch books tend to be delivered in conjunction with in-person presentations of an agency's capabilities, proposed strategies and speculative creative. This past summer, however, when Shark received an RFP from a Vermont ski resort amidst a busy schedule and little bandwidth to engage in the time-consuming, hand-shaking and new business lunches, we decided to at least satisfy our creative urge with an online advertising agency pitch book. Presented as a single website that embodies our strategy, positioning, design and creative drafts, its a nice pitch to look at, and which we thought more people would appreciate seeing.  But the fact is, agencies rarely win new business by clients buying into the agency's creative - more often, they buy into the agency's people.
